Nylon 6

Nylon 6 (Polyamide 6) is the European variant of Nylon 6.6, developed to bypass the US patent on Nylon 6.6.
Nylon 6 fibers are stiff, have high tensile strength, as well as elasticity and gloss. They are resistant to abrasion and some chemicals, such as acids and alkalis.
Nylon 6 is used in a wide range of products requiring high-strength materials. It is widely used for gears and bearings in the automotive industry, toothbrush bristles, surgical sutures, and strings for acoustic and classical musical instruments, including guitars and violins. It is also used in the production of threads, ropes, fibers, nets, and tire cords.
Nylon 6 has the potential to be reused as a technical raw material for producing new Nylon 6, making it recyclable.
