Nifco is a global supplier of functional plastic components for an extensive network of automotive product manufacturers.

Nifco was founded in 1967 in Tokyo and has expanded to 17 countries with over 35 production plants and 4 research and development centers.

Nifco buckles are one of the eight main commodity groups of Nifco.

Although Nifco is primarily known for manufacturing plastic parts for the automotive industry, its wide range of plastic buckles, developed mainly for backpacks and clothing, is a strong category in its production.

Nifco produces millions of buckles annually, divided into 33 categories, from strap adjustment buckles to quick-release buckles and lace stoppers for footwear. It is highly likely that if you come across a plastic buckle, it might have been produced by Nifco.

The primary raw material for Nifco buckles is Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as polyacetal or acetal. It is a thermoplastic polymer used for producing precision parts. It features high rigidity, excellent wear resistance, thermal resistance, flexibility, is tasteless and odorless, and has a very low coefficient of friction. It remains dimensionally stable even in humid conditions and is easy to machine.
