BHB Micro

(Body Heat Barrier) is an insulating material that ranks among the top-performing materials for extreme use on today's outdoor market. BHB Micro is used in the highest model range of Pinguin sleeping bags, replacing previously used branded materials PrimaLoft® Sport and Polarguard 3D®. The inclusion of BHB Micro in the collection was preceded by a series of comparative measurements in an accredited testing laboratory, where BHB Micro showed the highest thermal resistance values among all tested branded insulating materials.

The basis of BHB Micro insulation consists of:

• Siliconized ultra-fine microfibers, whose surface, due to microscopic dimensions, binds a large amount of air molecules.
• Excellent loft achieved by combining microfibers with a structure of thicker hollow fibers. These two aspects prepare optimal physical conditions for achieving its excellent thermal insulating properties.

BHB Micro is very lightweight, soft, breathable, and compressible. It is easy to maintain, washable, and dries very quickly. The siliconized fibers repel water and, due to their density, create a barrier that partially protects the user against moisture, keeping them dry and warm even in extreme conditions. BHB Micro is a very successful substitute for down, but unlike down, it is very suitable for allergy sufferers.
